Happy Valentine's Day Scroll Saw Pattern. Low cost, comfortable half mask respirator review.

http://www.stevedgood.com/estore/estore.html
This wooden Valentine can be given a nice shadow effect by using standoffs. The standoffs move the card away from the red backer board. The pattern calls for 1/4" thick standoffs to be glued to the back corners of the front board.  This make it a bit more fragile so it is optional.

Review:
I was reading Sheila Landry's blog the other day and she mentioned this dust mask. She loved it so I ordered one. The GVS SPR457 Elipse P100 Half Mask Respirator, Medium and Large. It's a low profile half mask respirator. It weighs in at a very light 6.4 ounces. The mask is NIOSH 42 CFR 84 P100 approved and meets other worldwide standards. The large center valve allow for comfortable breathing and low moisture buildup.

The material it is made from conforms well to your face and is very comfortable against the skin. The filters are very easy to replace. It comes with two already installed filters. Replacement filters are currently $13.50 on Amazon(2 Pack). There is also a hard carry case available for $16.99 if you need it.

After some use I have to agree with Sheila. This is the most comfortable half mask respirator I have ever worn. One of my most hated jobs in my workshop is emptying my dust collector bag. It's a messy job and the shop fills with dust. Even with the exterior door open and the air scrubber running it's still not safe to do without a good mask.

One of the reasons I hate that job so bad is because I need to wear something more than a nuisance mask. I have a full profile respirator but it is so uncomfortable to use. This mask solves that problem.

The head straps are also easy to get on your head. They are also comfortable and stay in place.

I had absolutely no fogging of my glasses while using this mask once I had it adjusted to my face. I think I could wear this mask for extended periods of time if needed.

If you are in the market for a comfortable low cost dust mask this is the one I recommend. Yes the price is a very reasonable $24.93 currently on Amazon.

These are my affiliate links on Amazon. The price stays the same for you and I get a small commission.

I received an email from Wayne Williams sharing his version of the blade caddy I posted a few days ago. Wayne modified the design to hold more tubes. He also discovered that a 1/2" wooden dowel fit into the plug. He cut the dowel 5/8" in length and wrote the blade size on the end. In the picture below you can see the wooden dowel in the top of the tube. Nice work Wayne.

Think Safety

Remember to keep the safety of yourself and others in your work shop in your thoughts at all times. Always wear eye and ear protection. Follow all the manufactures warnings that came with your power tools. If I demonstrate something on this web site that you don't feel is safe, don't do it. Your safety is your responsibility. Fingers are handy things, try to keep all of them.
